Through blogs, the ability to publish documents on the Internet has evolved from a privilege of a few (universities and research centers) to the right of all (bloggers, in fact).

Most bloggers use the blog as a personal diary, to make known their feelings and opinions to readers who blog themselves, but also to strangers who wander the blogosphere (or blogosphere) via a link link .   • Photoblog - Blog which is mainly published photographs instead of text.
  • Blogames - I blog which publishes games instead of texts.
  • Featured Blog - Some blogs serve as a showcase for the works of authors such as cartoons, comic books, home videos and other special topics.
  • Political Blogs - Given the ease with which you can publish content through blogs, several politicians are using it as an interface for communication with citizens, to highlight the problems and share solutions, mainly locally.
  • Urban Blog - Blogs, cover a defined territorial entity (a city, village, district) and using the technique of digital word of mouth for direct and indirect socialization tasks with the use of images and videos related to the community. Interesting use of maps and systems of social bookmarking to increase the level of sharing and collaboration.
  • Blog Watch - Blog in which they criticized what the author considers errors in online news, websites and other blogs.
  • M-blog - Blog used to advertise their musical discoveries and bringing others through the publication of the mp3 (hence the prefix) or audio files of many different formats.
  • Vlog or video blog [2] - This is a blog that uses video as the main content, often accompanied by texts and images. This vlog is a form of audio and video content distribution. The vlogs are used by bloggers, artists and filmmakers.
  • Audio Blog - This blog published audio through podcasting. The peculiarity of this kind of blog is the ability to automatically download it to your computer and on portable MP3 players like the iPod updates via RSS feeds with audio encapsulated.
  • Nanopublishing - Blogs written by various hands, usually as part of a larger group blog, created for profit by a publisher.
  • Moblog - Blog that relies on mobile technology, or mobile phones. The contents are often images (sent via MMS) or video (in some cases recorded directly to video call).
  • Multiblogging - is the ability to manage multiple blogs with just a script, often multi-user support.
  • Blognovel or blogs or blog fiction novel - a novel or short story divided into tranches that develops on a blog and is then directed to an audience. Most often the comments of other bloggers or visitors may be useful information for the author in the development of history.
  • Lit-Blog or literary blog - This is a blog, personal or corporate, in which articles are published literary nature (reviews, short essays and poetry, interviews, etc.)..
  • Educational blog - blog type used in school settings and university as a tool for online learning, sharing of learning content, communication between the teacher and students.
